With the humidity here, you'd think I would've done better

My nails are dying of thirst. And I, for the past two years, have not taken very good care to let them breathe. I'm just now catching up on my much needed break from polishing my nails. Go take a walk in the park or spend some time with your family while I'm gone. You'll thank me later.

Superbowl 2013

Superbowl is tomorrow. Shocker, right? It always seems to sneak right up, mainly because I'm not following any of the games before it, but that's beside the point.
In order to top last years nails seen here, I painted the Superbowl trophy and NFL logo on my middle and ring fingers. My left hand has the Raven's colors, purple and yellow. My right hand has the 49er's colors, gold and red. Let me know how you think I did! Did I top last years?

LA Colors Festive

French Nails

I originally intended on painting an arglye design, but decided I liked the idea of French better. It's just so simple and clean, a nice refresher from the drabness of a cold winter. On my ring finger are three tiny flowers.

Polishes Used
Essie Blushing Bride
NYC French White Tip
China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise

May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor

Sorry for the temporary lapse is posts last week. I did paint my nails! Never fear! So basically, here's last week's post that I never go around to.

So I'm going to a hunger games party tomorrow. Woot woot. We were allowed to choose a district to represent- I chose four. Because of Finnick :) And the party just wouldn't be the same without a themed manicure, now would it?

I modeled my design after the hunger games metallic seals. It took three coats of different polish, but I think I finally mastered the weathered metallic look. Not exact to the picture though. Maybe next time I would spongue some black around the cuticles for an added effect.

Polishes Used:
Sally Hansen Wet Cement
WetnWild Greys Anatomy
Sally Hansen Black Out
Essie Sandy Beach

New York Skyline

I saw these nails on Pinterest and just HAD to paint them. The skyline is monochromatic which gives it an even stronger industrial vibe. The design wasn't the most difficult, but it was, however, time consuming. I waited a day before painting my right hand simply because I just didn't have enough time to finish. Please excuse the excessive mess along my cuticles. I sponged on white to give a cloud effect, but didn't have enough tune to clean up either.

Polishes used:

Sally Hansen Wet Cement
Aeropostale Study Hall
Sally Hansen Black Out
NYC French Tip White

Side note: The new Essie top coat is still in testing. So far, I've gone two or three days without a chip. Results look promising.

Confetti Celebration

Just so as to be festive these next few days, I've painted a simple glitter gradient nail to look like confetti. On top of a sky blue base color, there are five different colored and sized glitters;  small blue sparkles, bigger white glitter, multicolored mini glitter, tiny white shimmers, and finally, all over, a big silver, coral and blue glitter.
My first experience with Zoya nail polish was love at first sight. The blue base glided on so smoothly and took hardly any time to dry. Also, I'm trying out a new chip preventing top coat. Updates will follow.

Polish Used (in this order):
Zoya Robin
Sally Hansen (Gem Crush) Bling-tastic
Aeropostale Pep Rally
BeautiControl Angel Wings
OPI The Living Daylights

Winter Wonderland

I apologize for the lapse in posts recently. Life has been hectic, and I honestly haven't chosen to spend the time to paint my nails! Anyways, I did a quick snowmanicure for the holidays this year. Punny, right? While on vacation in another state, I headed out to Wal-mart on a last ditch attempt at finding polish and bought the NYC brand, as it was the cheapest.

Colors Used:
Times Square Tangerine Creme
High Line Green
French Tip White
Black Lace Creme
Pier 17
And some brown that my relatives already owned
